With the allergy season upon us, here are some simple suggestions for helping you avoid the allergy blues such as hay fever, sinus, and other allergic reactions.
Try these easy to make juicing recipes and supplements recommended for extra immune support.
Pink Parsley Juice
- 1 apple
- 3 carrots
- 2 beets
- 1 handful parsley
Apples help with asthmatic reactions; carrots will boost your immune system. Beets and parsley are great for detoxifying and improving digestion.
The Allergy Bomb Juice
- 1 cucumber
- 1 green apple
- 1 head (1 ½ to 2 cups) of parsley
- 2 lemons, peeled
- 1 small handful of fresh mint
- 1 knob of ginger
This juice blend will help clear out any congestion in your lungs and sinuses. The ginger is a great tummy-tamer and will help with any stomach upsets. It can be a strong for some, so you can also add a teaspoon of raw honey made locally because the bees make honey out of pollen found in your area and studies have shown that this will help provide a boost to your immune system when fighting seasonal allergies.
Super Sinus Juice
- 1 orange, peeled
- 1/2 lemon, peeled
- 1 medium apple, chopped
- 1 tbsp fresh ginger, peeled
- cayenne to taste
- pinch of salt
Add all ingredients to a juicer. Add cayenne and/or salt over the top of the juice to serve.
Alternative: juice the lemon and orange. Add everything to a blender – including the lemon and orange juice. Add 1/2 cup water. Blend from low to high until smooth. Strain the juice or drink as is. Ice can also be blended in if you want a frostier texture.
If your allergies are more chronic, please consider taking:
- Meta zinc
- Liposomal liquid c
- Allergenics (this contains the herb called Perilla which is specific for allergies)
Enjoy!
